Built in 1859, first as part of a working farm, then transitioning to a lodging house, MileAway has been welcoming guests for decades. With our 2023 remodel, we plan to make sure the tradition continues for many years to come.
We’re proud to have updated the property in a climate-forward, energy efficient way to ensure that we honor the beautiful natural environment of this home and this community. MileAway is fully powered by electricity, with features such as smart heating and cooling, induction cooking, and LED lighting throughout. We also focused on bringing the history of the home into every space, with reclaimed original materials and fixtures, locally salvaged elements, and special preserved pieces we’ve creatively reimagined.
Because we love our natural surroundings, we sought to create year-round outdoor living, with multiple new backyard spaces to enjoy no matter what the weather or temperature.

We built MileAway with the comfort and enjoyment of multi-generational family groups in mind. There’s space for little ones to cozy up with a story or build with LEGOs, and room for teens to hang and listen to music on our vinyl record player. Parents and grandparents will find private retreats with gorgeous ensuite bathrooms for rest and relaxation.
