A historic Vermont home, reimagined for today.

The original 1859 farmhouse is registered with the Stowe Historical Society and stands as an example of quintessential Northern New England architecture.

In our extensive renovation process, we left the exterior of the original home almost exactly as you would have found it in the 1800s. On the interior, we sought to honor the past, while ushering in the future to create comfort and joy for our guests.

  • Our family was lucky enough to find this new rental available for several days this winter. This is not an ordinary rental property! Mile Away is anything but sterile-feeling from its exceptional design that preserves the historic features of the original 1850 house, to its beautiful finishes, to its gorgeous interiors (The wallpaper! The fixtures! The eclectic tile on the heated bathroom floors!) Every nook of the main house where we stayed is so special, and everywhere you look are unique items that capture the heart and mind. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a goody basket filled with information, recommendations, and locally-sourced goodies. From start to finish we were delighted by the experience. Our family has rented ski houses several places around the country, and this, by far, was our best experience. You will not be disappointed, and you will return, as we hope to, again and again—this I can promise you.

  • Modern. Rustic. Chic. And did I mention luxurious? I spent 3 nights in the guest house and everything I needed to be comfortable, warm and entertained was there. The bed was wonderful, the room quiet and the kitchen and bathroom were both nicely outfitted. The space was bright and welcoming. Such a lovely place to stay and relax.

  • Every nook and cranny of the farmhouse felt inviting and cozy, yet spacious enough for guests to spread out. The house is carefully curated with an eye for detail and design. Heated tile floors in bathrooms, towel warmers, and fluffy duvets are just a few of the on-point amenities. Guests will not be disappointed.

  • My husband, toddler, and I stayed in the Guest House Apartment at Mile Away during a beautiful snowy weekend. It was the perfect place for us, comfortable, spacious and thoughtfully designed! The kitchen is huge and fully equipped with everything we needed during our stay to cook in, make coffee, and store leftovers from the great local restaurants. We aren't snow bunnies, so we found ourselves relaxing in the cozy nook reading and playing with our daughter while the snow fell around us in the trees. We slept soundly at night in the comfortable bed in the beautiful green room with stunning wallpaper. Heated tile floors in the bathroom were a bonus I didn't know we needed! Becca is such a thoughtful host who thinks of all the details. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, comfortable, and well-equipped apartment with beautiful views in Stowe!

  • We had a wonderful stay! The whole house was beautiful, with lovely design and high end appliances. It was also spotless. Becca communicated extremely well throughout and made us feel very welcomed.

  • The best Airbnb in Stowe. Squeaky clean, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated/arranged, central location, large living spaces, fresh white sheets on every comfy bed and almost everyone had their own bathroom. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

  • My second stay at Mile Away house was even nicer than the first! This time, in late summer, we spent relaxing hours on the screened porch enjoying the sounds of the nearby stream With all the walking trails nearby, this makes the house the perfect location in any season. The house is so comfortable and perfectly set up for a great getaway.

  • Becca's Mile Away home was the perfect place for our leadership team's offsite. Becca was an INCREDIBLE host, and the details of the property blew us away. From the impeccable design, furnishings, and decor to top-of-the-line appliances to the quality of the linens and personalized touches (a welcome note and basket!), our group unanimously agreed Becca's place was amongst the nicest rental properties we've ever stayed at. I would recommend the Mile Away to anyone visiting Stowe and would 100% book this property if I returned for another company retreat or with family and friends. Five stars all around!

  • Mile Away is one of the most stunning, cozy, & thoughtfully designed properties at which I have ever had the privilege of staying. From the charming screened-in porch with the indoor / outdoor fireplace, to the luxurious spa-like master bath, and the fully stocked kitchen with gorgeous, top-of-the-line appliances (and the most delicious nespresso lattes!) — each and every detail was absolute PERFECTION. Every time we turned a corner, we noticed another charming and thoughtful touch. And Becca was such a generous and thoughtful host. We thoroughly have enjoyed our time here and I can't wait to come back again!

  • This is easily my favorite experience at a short-term rental. Mile Away was in such a convenient location in Stowe, but the property was so spacious and comfortable, I hardly wanted to leave! It's clear that a lot of expertise and passion went into the beautiful design, and there were so many thoughtful and detail-oriented touches that elevated our entire stay. The heated floors, the high-end appliances, the kids room full of books, the shelves stacked with board games, and of course, all of the Stowe-specific touches throughout, all made for a memorable few days. Everything worked and everything was easy to use - I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a Stowe getaway with a group of friends or with family!

  • As someone who has spent a lot of time in Stowe, I can confidently say Mile Away is among the best places to stay in this area. The property is impeccably designed; it has the luxuries of a nice hotel (towel warmers, heated floors, high-end appliances, etc.) and all the coziness of a familiar vacation home. Becca put so much thought into each and every detail and has truly delivered an 11/10 experience. This is the type of property you want to re-book every year for your vacation!

  • Our team stayed at Mile Away for a company retreat and we were all completely blown away. The location was the perfect spot to get away in nature and the house itself was a cozy place to work and relax. We were treated to a generous selection of local goodies upon arrival that really got us in the Vermont spirit. Everything about the property was so well designed and thoughtful that we were taking notes of things we wanted to incorporate in our own homes one day. The ability to scan a QR code and "shop the space" was a really unique touch too that we enjoyed exploring. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Mile Away to anyone looking for an elevated experience in Stowe.
